Do check out the March 2009 issue of Bass Player magazine. There's a nice, long article on the recording of Kind of Blue and Paul Chambers, including a transcription of Freddie Freeloader.

Thumbs up

Mr. Gray...since you seem to be a Denverite, as I am....I need to ask you a quick question. A bit off topic, I know, but who is this "coltrain" that you mention in your Profile?
Just curious.

There is a book with the score's from the entire album at Amazon.com

http://www.amazon.com/Miles-Davis-Ki...8418440&sr=1-2

I play bass, double bass, and tenor sax. From what I've played out of this book, it seems very accurate.

Hope this helps

If you like KOB, check Miles '58, with Coltrane, Adderley, Evans, PC and Cobb. I like it more (sacrilege), green dolphin st, stella, my funny, and a killer bebop version of straight, no chaser.
