List of must have bass music

The music library in Oslo has asked me to compile a list of works/books/methods etc for the bass collection.

They say they will pretty much let me order whatever...

So I would like some help. What should I order ????
What would be in your wish list for a library of bass music.

Thx

Is the library starting the bass section from scratch?
You should order the common Etude/study books, Orchestral excerpt books, Standard concertos and then some solo pieces.

Kreutzer Etudes
Storch-Hrabe Etudes (both volumes)
Bille Method Books
(I second Eccles)
Bottesini Elegy in D

Maybe also some of those "Complete Bass Parts" books for various popular or well-known symphonies or sets of overtures...

I'll post more if I can think of any...

I think some other must-haves are:

Dragonetti Concerto
Bach Solo Cello Suites (International, maybe)
Hindemith Sonata
Petracchi Method
Arpeggione Sonata

I have a question for the OP who is going to be using this music? should it be quintessential music for every level of playing or is it just for advanced college students? So far we have only listed (at least for solos) the classical Professional repertoire.
