name that tune

what do you do when you have a tune in your head and you just can't name it? I'm going mad ...

Is there a website where you can hum or play a melody or a bassline and the database will give you all the possibilities?

Yup, do a Google on "Tunatic". I've no idea if it works.

If it's a jazz tune, it's probably easier to contact Paul Warburton.

thanks ... seems to work for recorded music - but not on hummed tunes, and specially not hummed *basslines*!!!

I tried songtapper.com too, its quite fun and works for some songs *but not the one in my head* :-|

I found a site the other day for just this kind of thing:

www.melodyhound.com

I think there are other similar sites to be found if you Google something like 'name that tune.'

Failing that, why not post the notes here, or numbers like this? Might be a larf

5 1 5 3 5 1 1 1 3 2 1 7 1 2

Reckon you probably know that one

I'm having trouble with TBDB today, so forgive me.
Matthew if you could come up with some hints: Standard tune? Jazz standard? Ballad? waltz? Latin? Original key? up tune? composer?...ETC.
