online source for simple bass songs

I've recently started to play upright bass, but im not quite at the level to play advanced music. I used to know how to read bassclef on the electric bass, but I've forgotten it. Does anyone know of a website that has easy songs like mary had a little lamb in regular notes? I need to be able to read bass clef for my schools jazz band, and I need a quick refresher. I plan to use the electric bass until i feel comfortable with the upright.

If i was you I'd purchase George Vance's books. He teaches you through simple tunes like Nursery Rhymes and things that everybody knows. Great books for a beginning bassist.

Beginner bass book

If you want to actually learn bass instead of learn little songs to show off to friends than pick up Simandl book 1, it will have everything you will need to know. It may be a little boring at first, but the etudes arn't bad and it teaches you everything there is to know about bass.

I transferred to string bass 2 years ago not knowing anything except the string names, and now I'm auditioning for college on string bass with Rossini, Mozart, Bach and other great composers under my belt. not to mention once you can play the Keys, you don't need mary had a little lamb, you can just do it from ear.

The Vance books start out simple but take you all the way to Dragonetti.

whither "Melodious Bass"?....

David Walter had this fabulous little book of very playable tunes edited for bass that was out in the '70's. It was approacheable and musically engrossing. It is long out of print and I have not been able to find it anywhere. It is like it never existed but it is exactly what you are looking for.
