out-of-print

If a piece is out of print, is one legally allowed to produce copies, make arrangements, and accompaniment for it?

During the copyright period you can make copies for personal, family or educational use. Outside of "fair use" copying is prohibited. It doesn't matter whether something is "in print" or not.
