| Piano and Double Bass duets that generally stay in position position IV or lower? I've not played Double Bass for too long, having moved from electric earlier in the year. I'm confident at playing up to position II, I can just about find the the notes in position IV and questionable past that, my bowing skill is decent.
I'm now at uni studying music and I have the opportunity to play with many other talented musicians, its primarily a popular music course but there are some excellent classical pianists too, I'd like to take the chance to play some classical music without throwing myself strait into an orchestra (though I do plan to do that too sometime soonish).
Can anyone recommend some music that fits the description in the title? I don't mind it going past that range but I'd like to stay at least for the most part in my comfortable zones for now. I'm not looking for 'accompanied' Double Bass pieces, just pieces that involve Double Bass and Piano, preferably in equal proportion but if they were weighted either way its probably best that they favour the Piano part, since the pianists will be more adept at Piano then I am at Double Bass. I'm not really looking for 'beginner' pieces either, just things that mainly stay in that general range really.
Thanks,
Oscar.
