Rautavaara concerto

A few questions about the Rautavaara concerto for anyone out there who might know:

Where can one put hands on the parts for the 2 piano/percussion reduction of the score?

Is it written in orchestra or solo tuning? Are there orchestra tuning parts for the reduction available if its in solo tuning?

Thanks in advance.

Hey, I've performed that piece with that instrumentation.

Cool! Ok... so, at that link one can get the score and the bass part, but not the parts for the piano/percussion. Where did you get them? Is the bass part orchestra or solo tuning?

Thanks Calvin.

For the life of me I can't remember to either of your questions. I have the parts at the University, I'll be in there tomorrow so I'll check for you!

Enojuhani Rautavaara - Angel of Dusk (1993) - Concerto for double-bass, two pianos and percussion.

Fazer Music Inc.
Espoo, Finland
F 08379-0

For the life of me I cannot remember what tuning I used for it. In the conductors score the bass part is notated "Cb. Concertante in D), this could denote solo tuning but I'm not positive. I'd have to dig around more to find my actual bass part. The key signature in the conductors copy is a C-Score.

It was published in 1990 by Fazer Music Inc.

Hope I could be more helpful!

You should e-mail Philip Serna, I've seen a video of him playing the piece before. I'm pretty sure his contact info is on Jason Heath's site somewhere.

Thanks Calvin and Jay. I actually just stumbled on that video of Phillip Serna last night and emailed him.
