Recital Programs

To my fellow bassists:
The moderators agree that we need a place for upcoming recital programs, so here we go. Please post the programs of any recitals you are planning. It should be interesting reading for us all.

OK, I'll start . . .

I'm planning a recital for the end of the winter. Here's what I'm thinking at this point:

- three or four of the Dragonetti Waltzes (not sure which at the moment)
-Koussevitzky, Chanson Triste
-Eccles Sonata

- Pillinger sonata (third movement only, I'd like to do the whole thing, overtone singing and all, in the next couple of years)
- Rabbath's Breise
- Koussevitzky concerto
- Bottesini elegy (as an encore if necessary)

Not set in stone, but that's what I'm thinking about . . . not sure if I want to go solo tuning or not, either.

Looking forward to seeing what others are doing!

sounds like you guys are all classical cats!

For my recital I played:

Moment's Notice (Coltrane)
Moose the Mooche (Parker)
Blues
a klezmer tune i wrote (Trmpt / Accordion / Bass / drums)
A minor blues with a bridge by Don Thompson called Birdbath
"Square" by Mike Murley (canadian sax player - tune is based on 5 bar phrases)

Dittersdorf Concerto (in D)
Ralph Vaughn Williams Piano Quintet in C minor
(for those of you who haven't heard this piece yet, look it up now!! Awesome chamber group with non-stereotypical bass music)
