| Transformers Score; Steve Jablonsky I have just obtained the Transformers OST by Steven Jablonsky. I've been a fan of his work in various other soundtracks. Although, I have yet to see all of the movies he's composed for, I do own many of his soundtracks. He is a commendable composer, like several others such as Mark Isham and Hans Zimmer, however not until this album, did I truly recognize that he deserves more recognition than what I've thought of him in the past. Seriously, his work in the new Transformers movie is so grand that it should be placed up there with the big names, such as Harry Gregson-Williams, Martin O'Donnell and Michael Salvatori.
Unlike Hans Zimmer's most recognized soundtrack, "Pirates of the Caribbean", many of his songs do not repeat over and over and over with different variations to represent different parts of the movie. In fact, his work maintains quite the variety, however, presents a common theme. His work here reminds me of a mixture between Danny Elfman's Spiderman and Harry Gregson-Williams' Man On Fire. Arrival to Earth, is by far, an amazing song. You can tell that Jablonsky spent many hours perfecting the details in this immaculate score. Oh man, it's mind-blowing to say the least!
If you guys haven't seen Transformers yet, or have yet to take some time to give the OST a good listen, I highly recommend that you do it soon. I know that when you hear it, you're going to stop in awe at the "wow" factor that it delivers. It's like being hit with a sixteen-wheeler. It's just that crazy!
Having said that, does any one know where I can get some sheet music on this? I've tried to transcribe some, myself, but it's too difficult. I've searched the net at many popular sheet music vendor sites, such as sheetmusicplus.com, sheetmusicdigital.com, musicnotes.com, etc. I've been looking for sites with MIDIs to the movie music, but the best I could find were music to the Transformers cartoon series. I was going to use the MIDIs to translate through Sibelius or Notepad, and aquire the sheet music that way. I found a site that had one man selling his own rendition of the score, however, he put so little information about the score, that I don't think it even incorporates strings, and for all I know it could be composed for piano... so I didn't even bother with it.
If anyone finds sheet music, or anything relative to the subject, please post it here. I eagerly wait for the official sheet score to be released!
Thanks.
