Does anyone know where I can purchase a copy of Tubin's double bass concerto?

I'd love to get this music...Ed Barker will play the Tubin with the New Philharmonia Orchestra of Newton, MA, in November and I'm looking forward to hearing it.

It seems that there's no actual published version out, but just photocopies floating around. I know of at least one person here at NEC who got ahold of it, and a lot of others. I guess just ask around.

I'm pretty sure I just found a copy of it at accolade.de . When it arrives, I'll let you know if it's the real thing.

I found a copy online.

I found this piee after searching for years.

It is a swdish music company. They deliver but you should call or send an email.
They speak english. Just speak clearly.

Here is the link to their site.

http://www.aulosmusik.se/

http://www.aulosmusik.se/?-Database=...0A++Webshoppen

click "til webshoppen"
then write tubin in the space "Grupp, Kompositör" You will then come to the list of Tubin works they sell,

The bass cto goes for 175 swedish crowns or about 25 bucks....
Bargain.

If anyone needs help let me know.

G

Got it!

Came in today along with the Hertl Concerto.

Order it from accolade.de

It took almost a month to get here from Germany, but definitely worth it!

I asked about ordering this piece at a sheet music store in chicago. I think they ordered it from Sweden- took about a month. The print is quite small.

I've been looking for this piece for months now, and finally got a hold of it through Indiana University's library. I planned on just copying it, which would work fine I am sure, but my conscience is getting in the way. I think I'll just make a copy for now, but I am going to try ordering it from accolade.de as suggested above. Hope this works out! But advice for finding rare pieces like this- go to some of the big music libraries, such as IU, they tend to have everything!

Hi Stef!

Anyway, Tubin's dead, he won't care if you photocopy his concerto.

PS Send me a copy? <3

Orchestra rental?

I've been working on the Tubin for some time now (I got photocopies of Eugene Levinson's music from my teacher), but I'm having the damndest time trying to find where I can rent the parts (and a score-I'd really like to study it).

Phillip Serna said that Boosey & Hawkes rents it, but I can't verify that online. I suppose I'll call, but does anyone here know where the orchestra parts can be found?

finding Tubin

You might try Douglass Mapp music ... it looks like he has a transcription available for a piano. (If you're desperate you could of course cut out the solo line and make your own score) I've purchased from this site once before and they got the music to me within hours.
