That's so f'n cool, I really admire him for going back to school to study music. I wish I could go, but a trip to calli isn't in the cards for a while.

yeah. he played trumpet on a mars volta album too. i think it was the first one.

He also played the solo to Smells like teen spirit on trumpet live with Nirvana back in the 90s.

He also recorded trumpets on almost all the RHCP album .... That's his first instrument .
But jazz....????

his father was a jazz musician and flea was trained as a jazz trumpet player. rock music didnt come along till he was in high school when he hooked up with hillel and anthony.

Some of you seem so suprised to find that some rock stars were classicly trained musicians before they got into rock and roll.
