I just realized he died less than two months after I was born.

Orion is one my favorite pieces of music in any genre. It was mostly his creation and I still get inspired whenever I hear it. It still sounds fresh after 2 decades and it was mostly Cliff's baby. Who knows what else Cliff would've done if he had had the chance. Don't know much about him as a person, but a great loss to the metal community and to bassists.

Hard to believe he has been dead 21 years already. I still remember the breaking news on Mtv like it was yesterday.
RIP bro...

I was just beginning my Junior year in high school. A friend of mine told me the news. He was in tears at the time. Still gives me shivers up my spine.

One of the reasons I started playing the bass in the first place, a little over 18 years ago now. We will never forget you, you dope smoking hippie

RIP Cliff.

A huge influence for me. And my all time fav bassist. Wish he was still alive.

Huge influence for me also. Master Of Puppets was the one of the first albums I learned all the bass parts back to front on. His ability to groove within metal was immense.

Wow. Good call. Very good call.

Check out Call of Ktulu and strain your ears. It's buried, but I remember getting ahold of the Ride the Lightning transcription book back in the day...it's a sleeper, but probably some of his best work.

RIP brother.
