R.I.P. Phil

The heavenly band rocks a little harder with him there.

Pretty much every song they did was brilliant in its own way, even though they only had two hits in America. Check out stuff like "Cowboy Song," "Warrior," "Waiting For An Alibi," "Hollywood (Down On Your Luck)," "Angel of Death," and "Bad Reputation," among others. And of course, my favorite, "Whiskey In The Jar," which Metallica covered and ruined IMHO.

"now we go steady to the pictures... I always get chocolate stains on my pants..."
he was always to the point with his lyrics... he wasn't trying to be clever or cool. he was just being himself.
RIP Phil, you're truly missed.
this is a really sad song, but I'd class it as one of my favourite thin lizzy songs ever written: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=M5jDrqB83Ls

Philo was a great bassist, an excellent singer and a superb songwriter. R.I.P.
