4 strings are easier ??? (probably been post before)

Sign in to disble this ad
probably been said before but does anyone else think its really stupid when a guitarist say bass is easier because it only has 4 strings???? so there basically saying less string the the easier i would love to see a guitarist play the intro to sweet child of mine (the sort of song a guitarist like this would play heehe) o a guitar with one string beascue hay it must be so much more easier because in my opaiain (spell wrong don't care) only having 4 string on most basses you have to be a bit more creative with the way you would go about playing a song and finding the notes you need and plus if the guitarist still say 4 strings are easier you could just buy 6 string or if u ant got the money cut is high e and b of hehehe i think its a b

Then you might just take the time to work on your spelling.

If you have a proper teacher, then 4 string is no different than 5 really. I started out on 5, and basically when teaching myself the low B string just ended up as a glorified thumb rest since most of the songs I wanted to play didn't need those lower notes. Now that I've gained a lot more experience I can probably play a 5 more competently if I ever went back. However, I generally like the feel of 4 strings more.

"Sweet Child of Mine" is actually tuned to Eb (all strings down a half step) when they play, so if you had a 5 string you could play it the way it was recorded without having to detune. Or you could just play it in E.

Do you actually think that when people say, "good point" that they're saying, "could point?" Just curious.

As for 4-strings being easier, I think almost anything is as easy or has hard as one makes it to be.

For future reference....being both a guitarist and bassist....the guitar intro to Sweet Child is harder to play right than the bass part.

I have done both.

Find a different example.

Bass is not easier, just different.

1. Wrong forum.
2. 4 string vs. 5strings vs.6strings etc. has been beaten to death many times before here on TB.

Closed.
