5 string bass players in "famous" bands?

Sign in to disble this ad
I tried various searches but couldn't find a related thread.

I was racking my brain to try and think of some bands that have "made it big" with bass players who are primarily 5 string players.

By "made it big" I guess I'm referring to bands that had at least one release that went Platinum.

Just Google searches and TB. I didn't know DMB bass player was a fiver. Cool.

It just seems like in the media or YouTube vids I never see a mainstream band with a 5 string bass player... not that the bass player is ever prominent in a band video other than Rush

The REAL question should be, how many 21 string bass players are there in "famous bands".

I don't think Sir Paul qualifies as being primarily a 5 string player. I wonder whether any albums he played a 5 string on went Platinum.

I'm not into Metal so I didn't think to look there. I was thinking of players in the Rock/Pop genre.
