6 String Fretless Players?

Sign in to disble this ad
So I'm in the market for a 6 string fretless bass and was wondering what other players besides Steve Bailey are known for using them? I really enjoy his style but would like to hear some others as well. They don't necessarily have to be virtuoso's and even 5 sting fretless players would be cool to hear. Video's, pictures, and links are even better. Thanks

Wow I was just looking into this tonight, I don't really see any others that are currently sold as a 6-string fretless but it's not too hard to remove frets, My interest was especially sparked by playing a 6 string w/ medium frets tonight, incredibly nice. Weird at first but very tempting...

Martin, in my view, I don't think it's any harder than playing a 5-string fretless.

Alain Caron of course

In a more rocky feel I do http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QibBy...eature=related

If you are already used to playing fretted 6-string, then the switch to fretless is no harder than for a 4-stringer to go from fretted to fretless.

Great stuff guys, Thanks! I've put a lot of them in Pandora, the ones that have stations anyway. Really digging the Alain Caron stuff.

Alain is great and his intonation is similar to Baily's. You might like Bunny Brunel too but he's a four banger.

Percy Jones plays a fretless 5. Wish I had some 6-string players to add to the list.
