Question Acoustic Bass Guitarists?

Sign in to disble this ad
Are there any artists out there that strictly use acoustic bass guitars or atleast a majority of the time? People play them, but I've never heard of anyone recording with one for an album or anything. I'm not talking about uprights.

I believe Brian Ritchie used an acoustic bass for the most part in the Violent Femmes.

Hrmmm... The Violent Femmes dude was the only one that came to mind for me too.

Mike Inez rocks one on the Alice In Chains MTV Unplugged set. I LOVE that recording and the bass sounds pretty good. Also, he had "Friends don't let friends get haircuts"(or something like that) scrawled on the body as a reaction to Metallica's early 90's hair cuts.

Other than that... most dudes(and dudettes) will just play an upright for acoustic gigging...
