I love how some of his basslines (ex:With or Without You) Are so simple but, just sound so good. What do you think guys? |

| | | | Clayton is a good bassist but takes a lot of slagging because he doesn't nessecarily have the chops of some other bassists; either that or he just practices tons of restraint. He does either way because that's what playing alongside The Edge requires. He reminds me in many ways of McCartney and players like that. |

| | | | I think he's great, his early bass lines were pretty unique and drew more attention than his current ones (just an observation - not being critical ). Clayton does what the rest of the band does - they play the song - whatever the song needs they try to deliver - no grandstanding - but because of that they get high-lighted naturally. |

Yeah he's no Victor Wooten or Billy Sheehan or ...(insert name of your favourite genius) but he does what's needed for the song (as was said above) and at the end of the day that works for U2. |

Achtung Baby had some lines that are . . . well . . . funky. Pop as well. Some nice work on the new album.

Has more fame and fortune garnered from playing what fits the music than all of the technical wizards combined. |

| | | | Very nice...his tones are usually more interesting than what he is playing, but his lines work very well. Having a "reserved" and simplistic drummer like Larry Mullen also helps, they match together very well. |
