LOL!! I need to play at the clubs you are playing at

seriously though, I still have to look at my hands. How great it would be to just play by feel.

When I was studying piano in my teens, I had a habit of watching my hands...

My teacher actually created a long cardboard thing he would hold over my hands, so that I couldn't see them even if I tried....drove me nuts when he'd pull it out.

But he suggested practicing/jamming technical stuff and memorized songs in complete darkness (or blindfolded)...

I applied this to bass playing as well.

It's amazing how fast it happens, when you force it.
