the bassist for Blur, for my money one of the most underrated bassists around. Listen to Girls and Boys or Entertain Me and tell me that man can't groove with the best of em....

Beetlebum, what a track ; ) He does have a great style for the Kinksy/McCartney type approach and a lot more in-between, I agree he is a great player, very cool.

I stumbled upon this video where Alex talks about the bass line for Song 2.

Pretty interesting. Obviously Song 2 may well be the simplest bassline known to man, but it works perfectly for the song.

"Money for Nothing" indeed. :-)

Hey, I have just listed him in my top 5 favourite bassists!
Really like his basslines. Always makes the song better.
