What do you guys think his best parts and/or songs are from Cannibal Corpse?

I just picked up a bass and want some stuff to learn I already play a bunch of CC songs on guitar.

Cool, thanks! I had no idea the bass was tuned so low on kill, I thought it would be Bb I have a 5-string hopefully arriving next week, so any songs tuned like that will have to wait, but I'll try out the other two tonight

I just listened to them all and I definitely like the groove. On the note of Vile, I guess I should also check out Eaten From Inside and Disfigured.. I love those songs, and they're probably in a similar tuning.

Alex is a monster of a player. Although I don't listen to metal anymore, I can't deny the man's skills.

Well feel free to mention anything that is worth trying out, I have never listened to Blotted Science before, but I'm just checking it out on youtube now... seems... interesting

Alex Webster is really a machine of a bassist. Him and Steve DiGiorgio are my biggest influence in metal.

Adenosine Breakdown / Adenosine Buildup are incredibly intense songs. laser lobotomy is good too. i hope they put out more albums, because it's a really refreshing style, imo. websters playing is top notch

If you want a real workout, try your hand at Frantic Disembowelment.

That really showcases what Webster can do.

It is in Bb, but, I had to transcribe it to four string cuz that's what I thought you were getting. I didn't move up to five string until after I played four string for 2 1/2 years.

I'm confused.. the tuning is listed as G#, and there are open string notes, so how could I play that if it was Bb?

Also, thanks all for the suggestions I hope I can find some good tabs for all these songs, since I'm not really good at learning by ear. Especially in regards to crazy fast bass lines.

Oh, I agree totally.

Pat is a machine - his face is always totally blank, but his left hand is a blur.

I'm a huge fan of Cannibal Corpse and Alex Webster .
You should try Perverse Suffering which is killer song of them all, especially for the bass part.
Another song is Gallery of Suicide, i love the intro, very good grooves.
Also the The Spine Splitter is another great song to learn ...

Many respects for Alex's skill.
