All Maple P Bass vs Ric

I have thought about getting an all maple P bass and throwing a Ric neck pup or a Fender mudbucker in the neck position, and a Seymore Duncan 1/4 pounder in the middle and a badass bridge. Think this would come close to the ric sound?

I would try this with the All maple Squier VIM P bass, I have to work on a shoestring budget, so buying a ric is not in the cards...
