For all of you Bernard Edwards experts out there...

Okay -

Obviously I know that Bernard Edwards was famous for playing (mainly) a Music Man bass...

Does anyone happen to know what kind of strings he used, especially on the Chic stuff? I've read that Nile Rodgers said that they were stock strings and he barely (if ever) changed them. What exactly came stock on a late 70's Music Man?

Mods - I apologize if this is in the wrong forum (wasn't sure if I should post here or in the 'Strings' or 'Bassists' section).

Any would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't think Bernard himself knew what they were. I think the best bet is to go on the Ernie Ball forum and see if someone knows what strings came stock on Pre-Ernie Ball Stingrays.

+1 to what Cheese said. Much love for Bernard, my main influence.

I know that during the height of the Chic era, he played a B.C. Rich Eagle bass. IIRC, those were strung with D'addarios, but I could be wrong.

He only played it on stage. Check Marcus Miller's website for a really funny story about Bernard Edwards and that B.C. Rich.

On my way!

Edit: It looks good so I take pictures with it. Priceless!
