I thought his playing with Gov't Mule was pretty cool. He had some space to fill, being in a trio, and he did it well. On the stuff I've heard, his tone is pretty fat, too.

Big fan here...I think he'll eventually be remembered as one of the great power trio bassists. I was surprised when nobody posted about him in the "great tone" thread. I guess maybe his tonal choice was an acquired taste, but damn, that guy could fill up some space! I can't think of anyone else who could combine power with finesse like that, either. Maybe JPJ....
