..who can't stop thinking about bass? I lay awake every night, thinking about basses, bass amps, bass strings, playing bass, bass frets, what different basses feel like, what different basses smell like, etc.

...help?

Well, when I'm not practicing, I think about that stuff, except the smell. Never gave much thought to the smelling of the bass.

Since I am married, we obviously disagreed about women.

My hands itch when I don't practice and then I keep on thinking about my bass until I pick it up and start practicing...I dont miss out on my practicing because of this

To the OP, I feel you on this. It's a pretty intense obsession when I'm into something, and playing bass is no different. Even the smell of the bass when you first open the case. Better than a fine wine. But that's as far as ill go.
