I personally love the feeling he puts into it. Plus, this is the first Bass solo I have heard in a while that is not some ghastly SnP wank (I am sorry if that offends some of you, I know how much TB loves its wank).

He even posted tabs and a lesson for the video in the description (it is in Spanish, but who doesn't know a bit of that language nowadays?).

EDIT: I decided to record said instrumental and post it for download in-case any of you wish to put it in your mp3 player.

Wow, that is good. I was afraid it was going to be some kind of lightningfast tappingfart crapola, but it's like a complete song with melodies and stuff. Kinda catchy too, I might add. Thanks for the post dude.

We need some singer/songwriters who can play like that (frankly, the solo Acoustic Guitar crap is getting quite old). That way your girlfriend's music collection won't make you want to stab a pencil in your ears.

You could half-assedly sing about how you are not getting any over that line, and still have an amazing song.

Very nice composition, I thought. The feel seems a bit mechanical, though that's prob just the pressure of gettin it right for the cam. I'm a big believer in ERBs for this kind of thing, it would sound amazing played by Jean Baudin I reckon.

That guy's Bass is just rediculous.

Nicely done, a small part of that piece reminded me of Apocalyptica's Sanitorium.

I love playing like that - I agree he could have executed smoother - but like you the camera sometimes adds to the stiffness.

Anyway I need to go practice : )

Both good - the first video the line is too busy - technically good. But like something that is more lyrical on the Bass - more melodic I tend to like better if he added a dubbed track with a more melodic part that would be cool. But I love solo Bass playing in this regard - anyone that can execute a tune playing or outlining all parts is cool and when you can sing on top of that - that is just very good. So anyway my 2 cents....

That Nathan Hughes guy is awesome! Song sounds great, except for the solo that comes towards the end. It's too muted or something, don't know the term. That sound is also the reason why I've never really dug Wooten.

Actually, listening to it again, that mutedness is heard throughout the entire song, but it's not as bad as it's in the solo. Plus, it's offset by the singing.

Meh. So I contradict myself. Integrity is for wussies. I like the song.
