Ok, so a friend just put me onto the Brand New Heavies and showed me this "acid jazz" as they call it.
I love it.
I want to know what else is out there like it???
I can't believe I've been missing out all this time. I've been really running dry on inspiration for a while now, and I feel I've struck gold again. I need to keep it coming though, can you guys help me in my search to find similar kinds of sounds that I can learn from.
Also, does anyone know what kind of setup is used to get the kind of sound that Andrew Levy gets from his Jazz bass??? I must know this.
Any help is greatly appreciate, thanks guys |

Glad you found them Bro, keep digging and you'll be happy. |

Have fun

Andrew lays down some absolutely Killin' grooves on that record, and even a great little mini solo on "You are the Universe"! I then went back and read his BP interview from a bunch of years ago - it was one of the issues with Rocco on the cover (Dec 97). I found it cool that they covered two great funk players that don't slap in the same issue.
What a great player! I'm really glad that I rediscovered his work.
