My little brother is. I think they look cool but that's about all I care about them.

Tenchi Muyo was my first "real" anime.

I really wish I could find some sheet music of anime songs.

kame2000gt (‚かめのベースTAB譜置き場 - index) has more recent songs (about the 2000's forward) if you can decipher the moonrunes.

He also has a YT channel with recordings of those transcriptions as well. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8p95cfZ3V5w

I for one have my work cut out for me if I want to attempt that song...

I'm not really all that into anime, but I am a Japanese major (yes, I know, worthless degree) and Japanese bassists are insanely talented, IMO.

My top picks are the pillows and Do As Infinity. I can only play the pillows' "Funny Bunny" (actually recorded a cover on Youtube, but for some reason it only sounds good on good-quality headphones--sounds like crap on speakers). I have Do As Infinity's "Best Collection" band score, which has full guitar/bass/drum/keyboard/piano/everything notation for 21 of their songs, but I can't play any yet. I can play the intro to 焔 ('Honoo' [flame]) but that's it. Do As Infinity's bassist goes all over the place!

I'm really liking the pillows album "Pied Piper". "New Animal" is one of my favorite songs so far, but I can't play by ear so no luck playing it

If I had the sheets, I could at least practice some of these songs. But since all I have are inaccurate tabs or worse, just my ear, it's almost impossible to play them.

kame's PDFs have both notation and tab, the problem is finding whether he has the songs you're looking for (having a computer than can grok Japanese helps). Or in my case, finding out he does have the song I'm looking for except only written out for 5-string.

Now transcribing Yoko Kanno's compositions (Tank! from Cowboy Bebop is awesome) is just an exercise in applying head directly to the reinforced concrete wall.

I've got Guitar Pro tabs to "The Real Folk Blues", but there's no way I can be able to play it within the next 2 years.

May I join too?
I can play cowboy. Bebops intro. Its a fun one.
Some of bleach and naruto and death note intros are also fun.
A bassist named kenken is sick. Not sure if any of his stuff is in anime tho.

Me personally, I love to play lines from Bubblegum Crisis (the original), Angel Sanctuary, Cowboy Bebop, and various others.

Also included can be japanese pop/rock, or even american cartoons that have an anime flair.

Anyone else do this too??

Cagayake! GIRLS is just awesome, I learnt lot of K-ON! songs, but that was the first one.

I finally got the Tenchi Muyo song as well, but same as MCT, cant get it to sound as awesome, I think the original might be fretless playing.
