lol awesome, i'd love to learn to play the azumanga daioh opening theme but I learn 99% of songs by guitar pro as I haven't yet developed a ear for the music.

[edit]: just realised if I download the midi tracks guitar pro imports and shows tabs!!

http://www.animezen.net/midis/ < a site to download them from if anyones intrested

I'm an anime fan, can't say I've played any anime music though...

A couple of my favorites are Duvet by Boa, the opening song for Serial Experiments Lain and Waiting So Long by The Silver Fins, Berserk's closer.

Won't even list all the anime I own and love

Yeah it is isn't I forgot about that actually because I always skipped the end credits on that one, I like the music throughout but I'm not big of that song, but then I almost never like the closing songs on any anime, it is very rare when I do.

Count me in. I love Beck's bass player.

Claymore has some cool music, what anime does not would be easier.

Some favs
Claymore, Death Note, Bleach, Blood +, even Naurato has some cool bass parts

If you're looking for some wicked bass lines, pick up the Hellsing RAID and RUINS OSTs. If only one, get RAID. The music is fantastic and the bass is awesome and prominent in the mix, so it's dead easy to pick out the lines.

Yes, I do enjoy anime music. If you're looking for some challenging, high-quality stuff, pick up some L'arc~en~ciel. Tetsu's bass lines are amazing.

Nuts, I thought this would be about, you know, animated bass players, like my hero, Fleegle.

One of my favorite themes to play is from Kare Kano, tenshi no yubikiri, which I think is really pretty.

I also got into artists such as L'arc~en~ciel and Gackt through anime. L'Arc has become one of my favorite bands. Gackt has done a number of songs for Gundam and he's also done some cool covers such as Ai Senshi and Meguriai.

A really great bassist to check out is Ikuo. He's did the theme for Prince of Tennis (Long Way) but he really shines in Bull Zeichen 88 where he and Jun-Ji make a ridiculous rhythm section. He's also the recording and touring bassist for abingdon boys school. Here's his artist page at ESP. Check the customization of his basses from regular models and have the sound up for the music loop!

More number to hand out. Things are moving quite along.

16. Barkless Dog
17. Thump Jr.
18. ModuMan

Dudes, check out the Asian Kung Fu Generation, they did one of the Naruto openings and the intro bass riff is freaking killer.

Also, not anime but definitely japanese - Bleach03. Youtube them, their bassist is out of this world. Heck, the whole band is freakin' crazy.

Peace,
Greg

Here's a nice one for you:

Mikuni Shimokawa- Tomorrow (Op theme for full metal panic!)

I'll leave finding that track to you.

Sorry, couldn't tell you. Generally the tenchi fans here in the states avoid tenchi in tokyo like the plague. If it was the theme from the OVA's then I could tell you what that was... or even Tenchi Muyo! GXP... but not tokyo.

If you're curious, the OP themes for GXP and the Tenchi OVA's are: Tenchi Muyo GXP- Midnight Sun (english) (Kayoko Kuroda- Maiyonaka no Taiyou (japanese), and Tenchi Muyo- I am a pioneer (english) respectively.

Air Gear had a nice op theme, it's Back On- Chain

Happy Lesson didn't have the best ending theme in the world, but it had some great basswork. The ED theme for Happy Lesson is Akiko Nakagawa- Yume no miyako tokyo life.

Getbackers! Actually the theme is chameleon from Herbie Hancock and we all know that... But i do notice that alot of good animes have equally good basslines in there opening and or closing themes.

Oh... that one... that's from Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki... entirely different series. The OVA's came first, then universe, then there were the movies, then TM Ryo-Ohki, and finally Tenchi Muyo! GXP. I'm not counting Pretty Sammy as one of the series, as that was a completely different spinoff entirely... but that's the timeline of releases. Some of the tracks have some pretty good hooks to them. With the exception of tokyo, the rest of the series were rather good.

But, I see your TM: Ryo-Ohki vid, and respond with this one.

Yes, I know it's for Ryo-ohki, but it was the Tokyo and OVA opening here in Latin America

PS: I've never seen that Anime, it looks cool, reminds me of D.Gray-man, I guess I'll check it out!!
