FLCL has an awesome sundtrack too, pillows helped make that show (bran new love song is a fav), bebop always had great tunes. Prince of tennis and whistle have pretty good soundtracks as well. if any of yall have some tabs for anime tues, let me know please =P

I've learned a handful of songs from a handful of anime's. Got real big on initial D and learned a handful of those. But I usually pick up a guitar and pick up the guitar parts in most anime songs, mostly because having an acoustic guitar at reach is easier.

+1 for good measure.

Personally I've tried (and sometimes succeeded!) in playing Hellsing tunes. Really, really mixed sountrack.

If only you knew.... lol. I spend about $1k per year on it, always increasing my collection. I've watched a lot more than I own... anyone want to donate a bookcase? I need a third one... the 2nd one is overflowing and overloaded... j/k. I can afford a $20 bookcase (don't have room for one though).

Yeah, I play a little bass too. I could tell what you were doing there. You were playing some major and minor scales. I was watching your hands.

R.O.D [series] has really nice bass playing in the opener, closer is a nice reggae song, I really liked the music throughout.

Think Speedgrapher had some nice stuff too but I got board with the series and dropped it.

this thread is awesome.

I bought the Ghost in the shell sound track (very rare edition) and i must say some of the bass playing is sweet. There are some wicked fretless lines on it. CBBB is also great musically, its an anime about jazz for crying out loud.

Is there some sort of club i can join for this?

Which Ghost in the shell sound track are you talking about, one from one of the three movies or the 2 series, I like almost all the music for all things Ghost in the shell except the closer for 2nd Gig, The theme for the first movie is in my top five movies themes of all time.

I loved the manga for Ghost in the shell as well.

I'm not much of an anime fan, but this series holds a special place in my DVD collection.

End of Evangelion is just about one of the most depressing movies I've seen, yet I love it. Even though I'm not really that interested in fight scenes, animated or not, the scene with Asuka vs. the eva series is just EPIC. Also the use of Bach's music in the movie is just perfect.

That scene is one of my all time fav fight scene. Where eva 2 is basically in shreds and asuka is stil trying to fight, so brilliantly twisted. The one thing that always got to me was when during the scene, shinji is with rei in the infirmary and then when it cuts back to them, he has all this white stuff on his hands... Alwas wierded me out a bit. Also thought that Kaworu was such a genius character in that he developes compassion for mankind throgh his interaction with shinji.

Sorry to rant, on another note, may i recieve a number?

Have you tried reading the manga version? it is a different take with the same characters without the mechs, but still alot of action. And is not that depressing compared to the series. Altho the anime series is one of my top favorites.

+1, I'm reading that as well, but there are actually two EVA manga versions one is what the anime is based on.

Neon Genesis Evangelion that the anime is based on

Neon Genesis Evangelion - Gakuen Datenroku which is the alternate reality

I never was a big fan of Evangelion, but the bass line to Cruel Angel's Thesis rocks
