A while back Anthony Crawford requested a friendship with me on facebook because we both belong to the club "No Treble". I decided to buy his CD "Urban Jazz" off of itunes and I don't regret it. Wow that boy can play!

I am extremely impressed with his playing , sound , and the songs. Anyone else check him out yet?? I don't think that you'd regret it. He really tears up his Roscoe and has a great sound.

No None?? I'm having a hard time taking his disk out of my drive - This guy is amazing. It's definitely not your typical jazz - I'm not sure how to classify it. Hip-hop Jazz?? I'm not into hip-hop , but I definitely am digging this sound. Kinda Marcus Miller sounding , but I hate comparing one bassist to another because each has their own styles and techniques.

Not only is he a heck of a player , but he is a very nice guy too boot. I've sent him a couple messages on FaceBook and he has replied each time answering my questions. He was very appreciate when I told him that I purchased his CD and that I liked it. He said that it meant a lot to him to hear positive comments about his CD.

That's cool. I'm glad that you like his playing / style as much as I do. I was instantly hooked from the moment the CD went into the drive. It wasn't what I was expecting when I purchased his CD , but I'm glad because I think the CD has a unique sound and his playing exceeded my expectations!

I see where Anthony posted on his Facebook page that he is going to be on Alan Holdsworth's new album (err - I mean CD) that is in the works. That should be a killer combination! I can't wait to hear what it sounds like!!

I'm glad that you think so to. I read on his facebook page that he is going to be playing for the Emmy's (or Grammy - I get those two confused since I don't watch either of them). I'll have to watch them this year though so I can check him out. If you need more info check out his facebook page.
