Read it - not sure if I agree with his outlook in the Nov 20th Anniversary Issue. But he is one of the Cats for sure.

Oh yeah, I agree with you on the Anniversary issue. Seems like a pretty bleak outlook.

I must be missing something... are there two issues featuring him, Nov 2008 Aniv issue and the Dec 08 issue? Sorry, I just want to read them both if so!

I was referring to the Dec 08 issue(he's on the cover).

And he's also in the November holiday 08 issue on page 22.

I always like to say he is the greatest bass guitarist on Earth. He is not as impressive a soloist as a bunch of players, but no one puts together basslines better than Anthony Jackson. No one has better tone, no one has better touch, and no one on Earth has cleaner technique. He is the greatest, by far.

that's cool, we can disagree on the "soloist" thing

I think I see where and who you're coming from with that but IMO, there is nothing that AJ does that can be done better.

I know AJ can solo just fine when he wants to, but it is not his "thing." I get the feeling he really loves playing basslines, and his basslines are phenominal!

I quit paying any attention to BP years ago, but I'll stop in to Barnes and Noble and pick up this issue tomorrow.

I was a boy when I first found out who the man was from this record:

Wow.

I'd heard his session work with others no doubt, but I just didn't know who was playing.

Don't forget stamina. One can get so much blood flowing to the forearms that one can get messed up. Not him though.

I think I'll pick up the issue.

Great, thanks for the info; I'll try to find the BP mag in the stores somewhere. I don't read it that often now I'm not subscribed anymore.
