Just saw a picture of him recently and man, the guy has shed some weight! Good for him. I myself am trying to get healthier and maintain a healthier lifestyle.

Good Job Mr. Jackson!

How old is he now? Sorry to say,but when I see an older person lose a large amount of weight like that,I can't help but associate it with illness. I certainly hope that's not the case.

I'm curious as to what the little thing is beside his xlr socket. Must be a fairly recent addition.

He does look good, but I hope it's not an illness that's causing it. Also off topic; Has anyone seen Bill "The Buda" Dickens lately? Now there's some serious weight loss for ya.

Gastric bypass or lap-band surgery are possibilities....
Whatever he needed to do, good for him ! I am certain he feels a LOT better

He lost a bunch of weight a while ago too, then gained it all back (Jackson).

Good for Anthony! He looks pretty good in that pic, not like he lost it due to ill health or anything. That'll add years to his life, too.

Mike Pope spoke about it in a Fodera Club thread a while ago. It's a switch to switch his pickup into single coil mode, done this past year.

It's great to see him lose some weight again. The longer he lives, the more great music he can make.

Anthony is quite healthy and playing amazingly (as always). He is taking care of his health with the same gusto that he plays...no surgery, no meds, just hard work.

i had the honor of studying briefly with Anthony, early 90s, and remained friends over the years. just flew back from CA and had "The Suitcase" Eyewitness cd set covering the entire redeye flight... it's a master class in comping, odd times, empathic interplay, breadth of tones. it's rare that someone can take that high a level of technical and sonic brilliance and then MATURE it, heighten it all even further over decades... he's in a total class by himself. his recent work on his own cd, with Hiromi, with Michele et al has reached a new place, and it's stunning to witness. Long and Healthy, AJ!

Somehow I feel it's not really our job here to speculate about if someone has had weight-loss surgery or not.

He's a magnificent player and that's enough for me. I really hope he stays healthy and keeps on playing.
