Any Alex Al fans here?

Sign in to disble this ad
Marcus has been my main man forever but at this poind the guy who's got equal standing for me is Alex Al.
Alex has great tone is super funky and grooves his ass of.I love him!!!
I have a whole lot of recordings by him but I'm looking for more.
He seems to keep a very low profile on the web. Hardly any youtube clips and no discography. There's no fan club, but there really should be...
I've got him on lots of Cds Kirk whalum,Lorber,Golub,Pack,Culbertson,Everette Harp, Jeff Kashiwa....
but I'm always looking for more.
Especially more recent ones.
Any Recommendations?

Been a fan of Alex for quite sometime. I basically have those cd's of artist you've mention with Alex being the bassist for them.
He was the bassist for Michael Jacksons tour, but we know what happen with that.

If you haven't seen MJ's "This is it" check it. Alex is great in it, as is just about everyone else as well.

Well, you probably know this, but you can also see him every night as the house bassist on Lopez Tonight (TBS).

Most of MJ's touring band is on the show, including Musical Director Michael Bearden.

Yes, I like the band on the show, but there's not enough music to make it worth watching.

Stone cold! I always dug his playing, but I've never heard him cut loose like that. His touch is killer.

+1 again. I am not that big a Michael Jackson fan, but the movie held my attention from beginning to end, for Alex Al and also the dancing rehearsals (MJ may have been a strange guy but he could dance and choreograph).

+2 The thing that amazed me is how in tune and in control of every aspect Michael was. If one tiny little thing was off in any aspect of the show, he noticed it. He was an incredible musician, dancer, and artist despite his personal issues.
