Hey Guys,

I LOVE latin music. Especially Brazilian music. I was wondering if any of you could point me in the direction of artists I should listen to. I need to listen to some new music :-).

Cheers

The only bassist I know that plays Latino music is AB Quintanilla III. He is the brother of the late Selena..was her bass player. Plays in the band Kumbia Kings/Kumbia Allstars. He is really good. If you like Tejano and Cumbia type of music.

Oh my God! Sooo many greats!!

- Bobby Rodriguez with Tito Puente or Alegre all Stars
- Efrain Hernandez is an absolutely amazing baby bass player. Beautiful! He played with "La Sonora Poncena", Killer tracks by this player can be found on Oscar D'Leon's "Toitico Tuyo" and Luis Enrique debut album, also with Grupo Niche "Senales de Humo". His sound and creativity are immense.
- Sal Cuevas can be heard on many classic Fania records. Played with many Fania artists including Celia Cruz, Ray Baretto, Ruben Blades and Willie Colon.
- Andy Gonzalez
- Eddie "Gua Gua" Rivera
- Bobby Valentin Good bass player + great composer-Arranger.
- Cachao, of course
This music is so rich, I can't say enough about it and the wonderful players who play it.

Enjoy!
