Sign in to disble this ad
I just wanted to see if there were any spanish Christian bassists on here that play Latin Praize and Worship in a spanish speaking ministry besides myself..... Artists like, Jesus Adrian Romero, Marco Barrientos, Marcos Witt, Coalo Zamorano to name a few.... Maybe we can post here and talk about who you're influences are, your favorite Latin Christian artists, your ministry etc.
God Bless!!!
Si tu eres un bajista christiano y tocas en una iglesia/grupo christiano escribe aqui!!!

My church have English and Spanish service and I attend both. The musicians you mention are very popular , we usually play their music. Have you heard ResQ band? Alvaro Lopez on drums and Abe Laboriel on the bass, one of my favorites Christian band, unfortunally I have never heard their music played in a service>

We have a main workship band but they do not play Latin music , they play Chris Tomlin, Hillsong etc. and translate the lyrics to Spanish, many times the Spanish lyrics do not make sense How ever we have a Latin band for special Spanish services, that means that we only play 5, 6 times per year. Last time we played the list was: Bueno es alabar , Te alabare, Pacto de Hombres, Tu eres mi Dios, y Sumergeme.
I meet a friend from another Hispanic church every Wednesday for jamming, he plays keyboard and guitar , we are not the best musicians but we have lot of fun
Hey Danny , I did not know that you were a TB'er either ! I have watched your videos many times , I am still working on " Como Bufalo " . You are a great player !
How is the Hispanic Christian community in Boston and Reno? I live in Holland Mi. a very small town where there are not many Hispanic churches.

I go to Summit, it's a nice church and the pastor is really cool and supports the music ministry.
I moved to Reno from Los Angeles a couple of years ago, I left my family, my band and my friends ..... the first year was a little hard, then I met a couple of guys from different churches and we formed High Refuge Band. A few weeks ago we went to Sacramento to compete in "El Primer Festival De Musica Cristiana". One of the judges was The Canzion Institute director and we took first place We won 50 hours of studio time in one of their studios!!
here's the wining song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l08bUgIz8lc
We play @ Summit every Saturday night!! We play everything, latin, funk, some rock (I don't really like rock) Adoracion etc.
Gloria a Dios!!!!

I realized that you dont like rock because you mentioned that you like Emmanuel Espinoza but not Rojo .
I moved from Mexico 3 years ago, I received a promotion at my work and the offered me a very good position at the headquarters that are located here in Michigan, so I moved my family here (wife and two kids) we have been blessed in so many ways but sometimes we miss our families and friends. |

They gave us 6 months to get a CD together so we still have plenty of time
And yes, I don't really like rock, dunno why I just don't We play some Hillsong and Rojo covers but I can live with it The funny thing is that my kids love Hillsong and Rojo. Go figure!! |

My influences are the same as yours bro and i know what you mean about Emanuel Espinoza, i think his new stuff is alright, i only like some Rojo songs (las que tienen buenos arreglos ) but it goes more towards the younger crowd..... i like Jesus Adrian's new stuff though..
By the way congrats on that Canzion thing and good luck to you bro!!
The Hispanic Christian community in Boston is HUGE... there's alot of Hispanic churches here.. but like Danny said, they're mostly traditional (over here in Boston we call it "tungi tungi" ). There's only a few big churches here that play contemporary stuff..
I use to go to one of the bigger churches and i played in the worship group but then i got a call from God telling me to go with my father because my father had begun his ministry as a pastor so i left my church to help him with the music ministry... so i got together with my two brothers, who are also musicians for the glory of God ( my younger brother plays keys and my older brother plays drums), to form the worship group..... we also have a lead singer and three more backup singers... its great because im with my family and my dad supports us with the music minstry...

EL bajista ( Male )... ""EL'' always is a male
LA bajista ( Female) 'LA" always is a female
Since bajo ends with O then implies that is male: EL BAJO. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
