Exclamation Anybody else getting Jason Newsted's new solo stuff?

http://newstedheavymetal.com/

Sounds pretty good to my ears, King of the Underdogs is my fave so far.

this is pretty awesome. always loved his backup vocals w/metallica, especially when he did lead vocals.

The Newsted solo stuff is awesome. Godsnake is my favorite track on his Metal EP. I wish it had more of a Black Album tone, but at least the bass is there and clear. The guitar player Jessie Farnsworth really holds his own, and drummer drummer Jesus Mendez Jr. is bad ass. Newsted is able to really shine and break out on all four tracks, proving yet again, that Metallica really screwed up.

He did an interview earlier this week with a local radio show....sounded very energetic about the new stuff! I like what I've heard so far.

I hope he's doing better than last year. He didn't look so good on those EMG advertisements.

I can't think of a more supporting bassist.

I like it! Reminds of the band I recently joined.
Is it just me, or does Newsted look a LOT like Harvey Keitel these days?

Pre-ordered two of them. Definitely giving them a shot and after hearing that Soldierhead track... WOW!

I heard it on Sirius/XM the other day and yeah was pretty surprised. Some of his side project stuff hadn't been all that great but this was excellent.
His EP's first pressing already sold out so I'm on the list for the 2nd, whenever that is.

Jason was that band to me. I don't even go back and listen to them now, much less the "new" stuff which is Lulz City.

I check out Soldierhead. I'd like to hear a little bit of a stronger hook in it, but it's definitely bad ass. Jason was always criminally underrated.

There's always something to be said and respected about a really tight three-piece metal band.

I got the EP the day it came out, and can't wait for the album release that's supposed to be coming up soon. In case you guys don't know, you can sign up for a mailing list on his website, too.

I just read that Jason added Mike from Staind to make the band a 4 piece.

This sounds to me like an alternate universe where after Cliff died in '86, Metallica took back Mustaine for lead vocals and made their song structures simpler. And I don't mean that in a bad way!

I dig the whole EP, glad to see Jason get to do what he wants. You can really tell he's digging it.

For those of you in the UK (maybe states too?), Bass Guitar Magazine has a big feature on Jason in the current issue, a good read.
