Anybody know the bass player for "Here Come the Mummies"?

I have seen these guys live a few times and they just kill. The bass mummy is awesome. I guess they are some pretty well known cats and are in disguise due to contract and label obligations.

According to WIKI -
The band consists of various professional musicians based in Nashville, Tenn. There are rumored to be several Grammy awards among the members, though this is difficult to verify, as identities are kept private. They are believed to be under contract to various record labels, hiding their identities so as to prevent contract disputes while performing

Does anyone look familiar?

I've wondered that myself. It's also crossed my mind that none of them are anyone famous, and that the cover story is just hype. Either way, they're a great band, reminds me of Zappa in the humor department.

They have two, the one in the video is the main one, very funky the 2nd one is more rockish..

With that said iv been a fan for around a year now and have done some digging and the claim they make about grammy's and so on are true they have a very very talented horns, and rhythm section.

and my 1st post woho!

I'd love to see the looks on the faces of the crowd if they showed up looking to see that good time party band in the OP, but were actually going to see "The Mummies" (the garage band)

Totally thought the OP was referring to the garage Mummies... then i saw horns and was all, 'lolwut'.

The OP Mummies are sweet though... the audience though... not my crowd, haha.

Some of the horn players are local Nashville guys, so the bassist may be as well.

The saxophonist with dreadlocks looks like a guy who has played in a cover band I've seen before.. No ordinary cover band though.. Real performers, putting on an amazing live show, running around with wireless units. I've seen them in my hometown of Plymouth, Michigan (Metro Detroit.) Not sure if they've done any recording. The guy I've seen playing sax (who I suspect is in The Mummies) is named Marcus Darden.

This is definitely an interesting band (in the vid.)

When people tell me I'm a good player, I thank them to honor it, but am quick to add that there are players waiting tables in Nashville who would blow my chops away.

This is clearly one of those! And hope he's gigging and not doing "make work" for bread.

What a bunch of mummy funkers!

A friend turned me on to them a while back, and these guys are the best thing to come along in a while. Old school funk with great musicianship, plus the mummy bit. What's not to like?

Well if they are trying to keep their identities secret so they can entertain the crowds, why are we trying to blow their spot up? I would love to see them live and if they are playing in costumes in order to do that i say we keep hush hush about them so people can enjoy their talents

They are in town here in Nashville on Feb 11th. I'm going to try and catch the show. Just caught some of their show on HDNET. Fantastic!
