Don't know who the bass player was but he had smokin hot chops and tone. So good over the TV that I was compelled to climbed off the couch to turn on some real speakers. |

| | | | I cry foul! I had to sit through that twice trying to find the "smokin hot chops" and all I heard was solid bass playing. Now I know ric is a great player but I'm not sure how you can tell from that performance. I prefer solid bass playing to "smokin hot chops" so it was cool in that respect. But having to watch Tom Jones... |

I saw him at a club a few years back and he looks more than a bit scary in person these days. |

At first I was disappointed that there was a sub but after a few tunes I didn't miss Patitucci at all. Ric is the real deal and has amazing chops. He's not flashing alot of chops on the TJ video but trust me he's got them for days. |

Tom Jones is definitely in my top 5 of cool dudes, but no way he can surpass Tony Bennett. Tony IS the coolest dude on the planet.
IMHO, of course. |

Back in high school in the early nineties I was starting to feel burned out on what I could do with the instrument - then the "Live At the Acropolis" video started airing. I had never seen anyone do so much complex playing through such basic chord progressions. A total eye opener...I'd never seen playing like that before. Went right into woodshedding mode.
