Sign in to disble this ad
Does anyone know who played bass for Tyrone Davis. I've been listening his songs and coping lines but I would like to actually know who's lines they are?. I've heard it was Jamerson and some other names but does anyone know?.
This player is one of the reasons I'm playing Bass.

Thanks...R

Ron Harris and Bernard Reed during the Columbia years. Half.com part of ebay sometimes lists personnel on their cd listings. I dont know which cd you have, but you can look it up there.

Bernard Reid is one of my favorite bassists, I love his groove and timing, and he gets a great classic p with flats tone on these recordings.

'Can I change My Mind' is one of my all time fave basslines.

I think he still gigs in Chicago.

Check out the Brunswick Records website for more info about artists Bernard Reed played with. I was blessed with several opportunities to witness his trick bag up close, and to hear some of his stories.

Using the TB Search function will give you more links to check out.

Sorry, I misspelled his name, Reed of course is correct.

I think he played on 'Soulful Strut' as well, great tune.
