Anyone see the Big 4 show in Bulgaria on DVD?

Now, I'm not usually one to criticize other peoples technique or style, because I myself play quite strangely now and then on the bass... but... Did anyone see Trujillo's "solo?" I mean... you're being broadcast to the WORLD and... that's what you play!? C'mon... You go from Cliff's genius mastering of the instrument, to Newstead's not so much technical, but STILL very talented, and respectable ability... And now you've got Trujillo playing like a baboon with ADD.... I'm not saying it's the worst bassing I've ever heard.. but... it's down there pretty low...

Flame off... My apologies for opening the can o' worms

Not totally his fault. He's a career sideman/temp bassist so no need to really bust out anything original (and FTR I always thought Josh Paul>>> R.T. w/ the Suicidal/Infectious groups) and it's not like Metallica$h writes anything worthwhile for him to even try at, so...
But yeah his playing on their "new" stuff is immediately forgettable. He'll be more remembered for his strap length and "crab walk" than anything he's played IMO...
Can't totally think of really cool stuff he did w/ Ozzy either, or BLS, or Cantrell...

First off.. I love Cantrell... his solo stuff was actually real damn good... and of course AIC is genius... even considering he had the ape on bass... I just don't know what it is about Trujillo... just watching him play frustrates me... I mean metallica might not have the most memorable music.. but the old stuff (Mustaine/Cliff days) was thought out, and really gets the blood pumping... maybe it's his goofy crab walk.. I've got nothing wrong with simple bass lines... but... I dunno I just think if you're going to play a solo that's going to be seen/heard by the world... make it worth your time... but that's just me.
