I don't know who was playing bass, but his whole band was gross. I would give up any number of "left" body parts to get a gig like that.

Jay-Z has an amazing band? It takes me a bit by surprise, sincerely. Thought all rappers sang with recorded tracks...lol

Can anyone please post a youtube link to a good groovy song by Jay-Z?

A lot of rap groups perform with live backing bands. A lot of pop acts do as well.

i saw it and couldnt change the channle...his band was sick, and some of his new stuff is prett decent as well, although it dosnt touch the black album in my opinion.

when teh roots backed him for his unplugged album it was rpetty cool as well. he always has good accompanying musicians.

I think the best rap groups I've seen have backing bands. One of the greatest live shows I've ever been to was a Roots concert. They had this awesome breakdown at the end where they took turns having solo/lead parts, and everyone not playing would leave the stage...it was amazing. Sadly I didn't catch Jay-Z, but I'm sure it'll re-air. (I did find his new album on the street outside my car the other day, which was cool.)

Actually, I thought 'I Know' was a more bumpin' tune, but I figured you would want to see some bass guitar stuff. The guys is a sick synth bassist too.

Great stuff. I found the whole live recording of this album. Sounds like he brought together some of the sickest gospel/r&b/smooth jazz musicians for this. Great!
