Articles and interviews about electric bass in Jazz

Hey guys and gals,
i'm do a research project for my masters degree in jazz and while i have done a lot of research already i am looking for more really good articles on the electric bass in a jazz setting. These can be either for or against it. and please, i know some people will think one way or another but i am not trying to start an argument here i am just looking for published articles discussing the topic. The articles can be from any musician not just bassists or even critics reviewing a performance. I am focussing on Big Band and small combo swing playing but not so much fusion.

also if you have any really great recordings of early electric bass in jazz i'd be interested in that as well.


so if anyone has anything they'd like to share i would greatly appreciate it!!

I dont know if this will help, but as a history major I used JSTOR. They might have something. You really have to narrow your search but they have a large breadthe of material. I only finished my Bachelors so I'm not sure if JSTOR is accetable. Though it is all peer reviewed. Naxos music library should help as well. Your college should have subscriptions.
