I gotta add the master of solid, pleasing to the ear, dub style bass, the Family Man. Take a gander to songs like "So Much Trouble in the World" to appreciate the "one drop". |

He was the musical director. He played piano , scratch guitar , and arranged horns for bob. I have a concert dvd of bob and the wailers live and they just have a spot light on bob and marley kept walking over to the barrett brothers when they were groovin to give them some recognition. I think people would agree with me when I say I think the barrett brothers were probably the tightest rhythm section of all time |

| | | | I Agree
Not only do I think they are the greatest rhythm section of all time but I think Aston Barrett is one of the most underrated bass players of all time. Mostly because he isnt supper fast and technical, but he is the absolute rhythm king!
Top 5 bassists of all time.... |

Listen to Babylon by Bus to hear the man in action live! It's great! |

| | | | Definitely, he and Carlton are kings. If you ever get the chance check their old recordings with Lee Perry and the Upsetters before the Wailers. More rocksteady than roots but awesome nonetheless.
Another guy who deserves mad props from then reggae styles is Boris Gardiner, one of the studio guys from Studio One and the Sound Dimensions and had some solo albums in the 70's. |

I've seen at least a little bit of conflicting information as to how much actual input Fams had into the Marley song arranging process and would love to see some concrete documentation on this. |

Im not sure if he was the official "Musical Director" but he certainly did alot. He even tuned MArley's guitar for him. Bob would always go to Fams for advice on music , they often wrote songs together . If there was anything Bob wasnt sure about he'd go to FAmily Man |
