It seems that the legendary Alex Webster of Cannibal Corpse has participated in an instrumental side project with Ron Jarzombek on the guitars and Charlie Zeleny on the drums. Whether you like Alex or not (ie: think he can just play fast) you should check this stuff out, its not by any means the normal CC stuff....

Put you melon protector on and prepare for impact...

I love how well you can actually hear his bass lines in this material....and man that tone is just evil!

Gotta love a Spector!

The drop-A chords could have actually used a little more low-end punch, and Webster's tone could have used some more high mids, but overall this is fantastic. The bass lines in Bleeding in the Brain were as close to other-worldy as it gets. I always thought Webster's tone was too muddy for what he plays, but I'd challenge any naysayer to play his lines ad-lib regardless.

I know for Cannibal Corpse he plays in standard tuning for a 5 string - BEADG - but he could have down tuned for this project.

I was speaking about the guitars on those chords specifically. I know Ron's trying to keep guitars with guitars and basses with basses, but I don't think he had to be that timid in letting some bass frequency into the guitar parts. Just my opinion of course. As I said though, overall, fantastic.

It does sound like AEADG tuning to me, mostly because that's what my 5 is tuned to. Sounds pretty interesting. Thanks for the linkage!

I like CC but this is WAY better! Amazing musicianship...kind of a mix of Dream Theatre and Meshuggah
