Aussie Bassists Club

May as well create one seeing as there isn't one. We can talk about stuff like the cricket, beer, where we're from and what's happening there, the pending Big Day Out and whatever else goes on in our great brown land. And of course. bass, and aussie bassists.

Me, I was born in Perth and grew up in Fremantle, moved to Tassie and lived there for 14 years and now live in Brisbane. Played bass for 12 years now.

Could go on but this thread isn't about me, it's about you.

Seeing as I posted this at around 2am our time, I'll bump it for the more accessible time of 4pm to get some attention

Oi Oi Oi

Jimmy here, in Darwin. Tropical climates play havoc with wooden necks and speaker cones.

I'm in as well. I'm from a city near Brisbane.

I've only been "playing" bass for about a year or so...

I'm in. Born, bred, live in Perth. Playing 11 years.
love all footy (well maybe not soccer) and a bit of Surfing for unrelated stuff.

So, how are the music stores in your cities?
Feel it's a little Warwick heavy over in Perth.

Hey folks, David from Sydney here.

You know you could join the Australasia bass club instead?

C'mon!

Oh, I never noticed that one... but in this one we can talk about how we whitewashed the Kiwi's in the cricket!

Music stores in Brisbane aren't bad. I have a mate who works at an Ellaway's near my place and I can get EB Slinkys for $36, instead of the RRP of $79.95... picked up a pack yesterday, here right beside me waiting to go on my stingray.

Haven't noticed many Warwick's around to be honest. A lot of Musicman, Fender and Ibanez though. Few Gibsons and a few Warwicks.

jdieh1, whereabouts near Brisbane?

Well, I live in Montreal - but legally I'm Australian (thanks, mom). Could someone send me a Peppermint Crisp, please?

Oh man - you're the best! Now I want to eat my screen! I haven't had a PC in at least two years. Actually - I think your version is better: although I don't get to see that green crystal interior, I also don't get candy stuck to my teeth for days. Thanks for coming through on that, Jake.

I think this is an underarm tactic to derail the Australasian Bass Club.
