Just heard the song SMASH by this guy.

Pretty amazing.

Anyone know much about him, I saw a few of his albums.

What is his best? I like the harder more fusion sound of Smash, maybe I should get that album.

Avishai is one of my favorite of the current players/ writers out there. You might want to check out his 'Unity' album where he plays more electric while Yagil Baras plays upright.

I ordered his live CD from Amazon on Saturday, and he's playing at the Sligo jazz festival in August.

The Chick Corea 'Origin' group featured him. Difficult listening but wonderful. There is a studio CD, a 'best of' CD from the Blue Note Live boxed set, and the full box set from what I remember. Great stuff.
