I found a few videos of Eric Burdon and WAr. I always heard BB used a jazz bass but in the videos (1970) he was using a Gibson EB-3. Anyone have any information on the basses he used.

I'm pretty sure he used Fenders most of the time. When I saw him live back in the seventies, he had a Fender (I can't remember which one.) BB Dickerson is special to me because the very first bassline i ever learned was one of his, "Heartbeat," from Why Can't We Be Friends?

BB was a good player. He was murdered about 25 years ago.

Funny thing about those Gibsons back then... I recently saw a video with Larry Graham playing one and Rock from the Ohio Players too. I didn't remember that at all.

Almost as interesting as seeing Stanley Clarke playing a Ric right before he got his Alembic

umm, i'm pretty sure he's in the current version of the band called 'low rider' or something, so i guess that means he's still alive

Years ago, I read he had been shot. I would be very happy to be wrong in this case.

I know it's not always accurate, but a quick look on Wikipedia does not mention his death.

It was War member saxaphonist Charles Miller that was murdered in 1980(during a robbery attempt).
