Another old school groove master-Oscar Alston, on an instrumental version (I had no idea there was one) of "Square Biz":

A few years ago I picked up the deluxe edition of Street Songs because it had a bonus disc with a live Rick James concert, Oscar Alston sure could throw down!
Teena Marie was always one of my favorites too, she always had great basslines and players including Anthony Jackson.

Are you sure that isn't Allen McGrier on bass? Anyway, the instrumental can be found on the "Square Biz" 12".
