Let's not forget about Cop Shoot Cop or The Dirtbombs, both legendary bands who deserve way more recognition.

Believe it or not, it's not uncommon in doom metal or grindcore.

Dos - 2 basses (Mike Watt and Kira Roessler) and nothing else.

There's also that "Minuteflag" project they both played in, which, as the name implies, was both Black Flag and the Minutement recording together. I think that EP may be out of print, though.

Has Ned's Atomic Dustbin been mentioned yet?

edit: OK, I suck, I didn't even look at the URL in the first post.

How about Stanley Clarke's solo stuff? How about Wayman Tisdale's current solo stuff?

If you're still using the bass only as a "foundationing" instrument, click this: http://www.waymantisdale.com/

It's funny, when I saw the title of this thread I figured I'd chime in with Ned's Atomic Dustbin. I still break out their album "God Fodder" on ocasion.

Don't quote me but I think early Neurosis had two bassists. Not sure if they're still doing that or not - haven't given 'em a listen in a while...which reminds me...

Toupe from Britain. Good players, some raunchy humour in their tunes, and a great live show.

Only one bass on the myspace page tune. We are hoping to get something recorded with both basses soon.

King Crimson had two bassists in the double band days I think, or maybe they just recorded it twice, I'm not sure!
